A Trip to Kinokuniya - Guess What I Bought?

Went to Kinokuniya yesterday and (*drum roll*) bought the latest Claymore manga right off the shelves. Alright, this is no surprise to anyone who knows me. It was crowded with many shoppers probably due to the 20% discount promo that’s on-going. As a Claymore die hard, I just have to grab both versions, the raws and the translated version by Viz Media.

Claymore Combination

A new manga series caught my eye as it has an awesome cover. “Variante”, has anyone read it before? I saw volume 4 in Kinokuniya yesterday and volume 1 in MPH the other time. I’m rather interested in reading it but if it’s pure horrifying I will not start.

    Well, went down to my local Kino last week and picked up the Yoko artbook which I’ve been wanting for quite a while now.

    Only Claymore manga I saw was the untranslated one. Interestingly enough, there was the translated versions of Junjou Romantica available as well, but since they didn’t have the first 2 volumes, I gave it a miss.

    Variante’s awesome. Its a short series, with only 4 volumes, but its one of the better short series mangas I’ve read. Violence level its on par with Elfen Lied. Its a good little story, with a bittersweet ending. I would certainly recommend this one.

    I can pass you my copy of the series if you like, Hyn.

    No fair. Melbourne has zilch anime.

    LOL, somehow I’m not surprised!

    @Shin
    I think it’s possible to place a special order for the first 2 volumes of Junjou Romantica at the customer service counter. Don’t worry about the price, it’ll be the same though.

    @Stifler
    I managed to get my hands on Volume 1 and 2 of Variante and it’s great! ROAR!!! What’s wrong with me? Why is it only now that I discover such an awesome series.

    Thanks Stifler but I’m going to get them from Kinokuniya when I’m free. It’s a great series and worth the buy. (:

    @blissmo
    Cheer up blissmo, it’s the same here when it comes to anime. But when it comes to manga, there’s plenty of them.

    @Soshi
    ROAR!!! Claymore rock my world!
